The Matatu Dinner featuring musician/poet/actor Saul Williams reading from his soon to be published book, US(a.), jazz records played by James Beard Leadership Award recipient and chef/author Bryant Terry, and artist talks with Mahader Tesfai and Donte Clark. The dinner menu is curated by Michelin Star award winning chef Sarah Kirnon, informed by this year's film selections and origins. 

On the Table:

Cornmeal fritters drizzled with wild honey, flowering cilantro, sea salt

East Oakland's own Dig Deep farms heirloom tomato salad, fresh oregano, avocado, honey powder.

Twice fried green plantains, pikliz, mojo sauce (garlicky vinegar)

MIss Ollie's skillet fried chicken, summer succoatash, smoked field greens


Ground Provision coconut curry, tamarind sauce, wild cilantro sauce
